A Nightmare Before Christmas

Made for a pair of my very good friends for Christmas who are super-big fans of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and apparently this is their favorite toy from the movie. Credit goes to Tearatone for giving me the idea and helping me make this slice of awesome.
The zombie/vampire (?) duck is made of layers of pink insulation foam, a wooden dowel for the neck, wood for the beak, craft foam for the teeth, and wood for the wheels and platform, then all was painted with acrylics. The most difficult part was probably the head. I wasn't willing to buy a six-pack of styrofoam balls and no one seemed to sell a three inch sphere by itself, so I actually layered more pink foam together and shaped a sphere by hand...which took about a hour just to get the right shape....Then I had to slide the beak portions in at the right angle so the teeth wouldn't intersect. Lot's 'o fun.
The wheels are fully functional, so if wanted, the little duckie can be pulled around on a string...or I've granted mobility to a psychopathic toy bent on human slaughter..O_O Oh God, what have I done?!

In general, production went pretty smoothly and I look forward to making this again for the sake of commissions...BTW, that's me advertising for commissions should anyone be interested. XD Now available on etsy! [link]
